Our goal in collecting information about you is to create a smooth, and efficient experience on our website that makes your visit simple and
valuable. Craft-O-Matic is very concerned about your privacy. In the normal operation of our services we collect and, in some cases, disclose information about you. Craft-O-Matic has prepared this
detailed policy to permit you to know as much as possible about our practices so that you can make an informed decision.
Obviously, when you list a craft in the catalogue or purchase a craft, detailed information about you is disclosed to us. However, we may also
disclose some of your information to third parties and it may be used by us and third parties. By accepting the User Agreement, you expressly consent to our use and disclosure of your information. This
Policy is part of the terms of the Craft-O-Matic User Agreement
Privacy and Minors.
Minors or children are not legally permitted to use our services. Minors shall not
submit any personal information to us. If you are a minor, you must have your parents or guardians use this service for you. If we determine that information has
been collected about a minor in error or as a result for fraud or pretense, we will destroy all of that information and require all third parties to whom any such
information has been provided to destroy same. Any third party that receives information that knows or is subsequently made aware is collected from a minor
shall destroy such information. We are very serious about protecting and preventing the collection of information about minors and will prosecute all violations of this policy or applicable law.
Registration:
You must register with us to use this service using our online forms. You will be
required to provide us with your name, address, other credentials, telephone number, payment information, e-mail and in some cases your social security
number (for Crafters doing business with us). We use credit card information to verify your name, address, and other information. In the event an attempt is made to
change your registered e-mail address, we hold the changes until you verify that you received the e-mail at your original address. We may also collect voluntary
information about you. We also retain additional information that is used for security purposes in the event we discover that someone has made an unauthorized
use of your credentials, or changed your account information.
Site Use Patterns:
We automatically track certain information about you based upon your use of our
site. We use this information to do internal research to better understand use patterns for the purpose of improving our service. We do not collect this information
about any one person's use of our site. This information is collected and used on an aggregated basis. For example: to help us analyze server usage and load we
may collect information that may include the URL that you just came from (whether this URL is on our site or not), which URL you next go to (whether this URL is on
our site or not), what browser you are using, and your IP address.
Cookies:
We use cookies on certain pages of our site. We may also offer certain features
that are only available through the use of a cookie. Cookies are text files that are stored on your own computer that record information, selections or choices you
have made on our site. To make your experience on our site personalized to your preferences and automatically consistent with your choices, our site will read the
cookies we have written to your computer. (Our cookies are designed so that no one else can read our cookies. ) This maintains from page to page the information,
selections and choices you have already made without being required to re-enter the same information, selections and choices page after page. Our primary use of
cookies is to have you avoid re-entering your password. We primarily use "session cookies" (automatically deleted at the end of a session). We do not collect any
information, selections or choices about you after you leave our site. Our use of permanent cookies (ones that outlive the session) is strictly for targeted banner
advertising on our site. This type of cookie is like a list of our advertisers products that you might be interested in, rather than a random display of all advertisers.
However it is not a written list. For your security it is a code that has no meaning to anyone but us. You may decline our cookies, but some of the time saving
features may not be available to you and you may be required to re-enter your password more frequently. Member Crafters MUST allow cookies in order to
participate. We do not attempt to read any one else’s cookies on your computer.

Crafter Ratings:
If you are Member Crafter we a collect customer’s comments about you in our ratings area.
Correspondence:
If you send us personal correspondence, such as e-mail or letters, or if other users
or third parties send us correspondence about your activities on the Site, we may collect such information into a specific file about you. That information may be
used to prohibit your use of our service. We use information about you for marketing, to analyze site usage, to improve content for the purpose of improving our site to better fulfill our users' needs.
Banner Advertising:
We may also use your information to deliver information that may be targeted to
your interests, such as targeted banners. Your acceptance of the User Agreement is your express agreement to receive this information.
Notices:
We use your e-mail address, your mailing address, and phone number to contact
you regarding administrative notices, and in some cases based upon your choices, new services, products or communications relevant to your use of the Site.
Billing Information:
If you are a member crafter or make a purchase on our site we will use your
address and billing information to bill you and verify information about you.
Specific Information and Disputes:
Specific information collected about you (including cross checks for multiple IDs or
aliases) may be used to resolve disputes, and enforce our User Agreement.
We live in a litigious society and must operate in a regulatory environment. We
may be forced to disclose information to the government or third parties under subpoena. Also, third parties may unlawfully intercept transmissions. We must
(and as part of your use of our site you authorize us to) disclose any information about you to law enforcement or other government officials as we, in our sole
discretion, believe necessary or appropriate, in connection with an investigation
We will use our best efforts to comply with the Privacy Policy set forth herein, but
we can not and do not promise to protect your personal information or communications from the government or from all possible third parties.
Mailing Lists:
We do not use your information to create or sell mailing lists or other data collections to any third party.
Advertisers:
We collect and aggregate information and disclose same to advertisers, but only in
aggregate form. Information like: passwords, credit card number, and bank account number, are not disclosed to advertisers at all.
Subpoenas:
We are required to comply with the lawful requests of litigants and government
entities. Therefore, litigants and government law enforcement officials can request and may receive your information.
Other Providers and Shippers:
Shippers and other third party Providers may be used to compliment our service.
The Provider may collect information directly from you (such as where we provide shipping information directly for your choice of shipper). Generally speaking we do
not permit them to sell your information to third parties.
By using our site you agree to our User Agreement, and you agree that, with
respect to other user's information that you obtain through our Site that you will comply with our license to use such information.
License to Use:
Your acceptance of the User Agreement creates a license which permits your use
other user's information only for: (a) Craft-O-Matic related communications that are not unsolicited commercial messages, (b) using affiliated services like: insurance,
shipping and fraud complaints, and (c) any other purpose that such user expressly permits after reasonable disclosure of your use and intended purpose.
You must warn users and provide a simple cost free opportunity to remove
themselves from your database and you must provide users an opportunity to review any information you have collected about them.
Unless you are lawfully authorized as a government official or under a lawful order of
a court of competent jurisdiction, you may not disclose personally identifiable information about another user to any third party without our consent AND the consent of the other user.
Unsolicited e-mail promotions (Spam) will not be tolerated and is strictly prohibited.
Your license to use other users' information expressly prohibits you from adding such user to any type of mailing list, unless you can demonstrate that the user after
clear and unequivocal notice, expressly and specifically requested to the added to your list. (Default additions are not permitted)
Protecting Your Information:
Your verification information, like your password, may subject you to legally binding
actions taken on your behalf by others. Except for parties identified by Craft-O-Matic as being authorized, (tech support, loss control security from the
shipper, etc.) do not discuss your account and never disclose your password to any third parties nor share it with any third parties. Authorized parties NEVER ask for
your password. If you lose or forget your password, you shall immediately change your password.
Updating Your Information:
The registration process allows you to review and update your information. You
agree that you shall promptly update your information if it changes. We will retain prior information about you so that in the event of a security breach or other dispute,
we can attempt to trace back through the information to generate evidence. We also retain prior information if in our sole discretion it is necessary to administer the
service. Examples of such instances would include things like:
- your account is in dispute, in which case your information will be kept on file ntil the dispute is resolved.
- you have a free e-mail service account or are otherwise required to provide a credit card for other reasons
- you are involved in a pending dispute
- we need to troubleshoot problems
- we seek to enforce our User Agreement
Prior information is never completely deleted from our databases due to technical limitations and systematic back up procedures
Directly Disclosed Information:
If you disclose your information to parties on our site (such as on Message Boards)
or other sites on the Internet, different rules may apply to their use of the information you give them. Authorized parties of Craft-O-Matic should NEVER request any
personal or account information on any of our Message Boards.
We can not control the privacy policies of third parties, therefore you are subject to the privacy customs and policies of that third party
Security:
We use industry standard efforts to safeguard your information, such as firewalls on
our servers and Secure Socket Layers for encrypted transmissions of personal data.
However, "perfect security" does not exist.
For most users, it is their own actions that cause security risks. Be cautious about
any information you give out unless you can verify the credentials of the person or entity with which you are dealing.
